What makes a pressure washing quote different

Pressure washing is priced by surface and by square foot, and the job changes by what is on the surface - mold on siding is a soft wash, oil on a driveway is a degreaser and a second pass. The template is built for that:

  • Surfaces and approximate square footage on the job block - driveway, siding, deck, roof - so the area every price comes from is written where the client can see it.
  • A surfaces-and-treatment section above the line items for the method: pressure wash, soft wash, degrease, or rinse - the difference between a price and a scope.
  • An item column for surface by square foot, soft wash, sealing, and add-ons, so "house siding, soft wash, 1,800 sq ft" and "deck seal after wash" are separate visible prices.
  • Water source and minimum job in the terms - client hose bib or contractor-supplied water, and the floor you charge to show up.
  • Deposit and signatures, with staining and weather terms in the fine print - staining changes the price, weather changes the date.

Pricing it

  1. Price each surface by square foot and say the rate on the line. Our pressure washing pricing guide carries 2026 benchmarks by surface.
  2. Quote soft wash as its own line at its own rate - it is more chemical, more time, and less water, and clients pay for it when it is named.
  3. Set the minimum job before anything else. Small driveways are where a pressure washing business quietly loses money.
  4. Sealing is one of the highest-margin add-ons in the trade. Quote it on every deck and paver job, even at a line the client crosses out.

When the estimate should happen from the curb

Most pressure washing quotes can be priced from the street. FastEstimateMaker lets you snap the surfaces and get a priced estimate on your phone in about a minute, text it, and collect the deposit on signature - see how it fits the trade on the pressure washing page. When the price is agreed, the free pressure washing contract template adds the service agreement and a pre-job walkaround sheet.

Questions contractors ask

How do I estimate square footage without measuring?

Pace it or use the property record for the house footprint, then write the assumed square footage on this template's job block. The fine print lets the price adjust if the surface is larger or dirtier than described.

Should I charge extra for soft washing?

Yes, and as its own line. Soft wash uses more chemical and more time per square foot than pressure washing; pricing it as a named service is how the client understands why siding costs more than a driveway.

What is a reasonable minimum job?

Enough to cover travel, setup, and an hour of work - most operators land between $100 and $250 in 2026 - the pressure washing pricing guide on this site carries the current benchmarks. Write yours in the terms line so a small driveway is never a free trip.
